This trek from Fes to Merzouga takes three days and begins at around 8:00 in the morning from your hotel in Fes. The Mountains road and the cedar trees of the middle Atlas are the first things we encounter as we make our way towards Midelt. Ifrane and Azrou, a city that is well-known for its production of cedar wood, are also on our way.In the town of Midelt, we shall have lunch. As we make our way to Erfoud in the afternoon, we will travel across the desert region, passing via Tizi-n-Talghamt pass and Errachidia while doing so. When we get to Merzouga, you will have some time to yourself to do anything you choose. When we get to Merzouga, we will spend the night at the hotel.
We will meet the 4×4 driver in the morning, once you have finished your breakfast at the hotel, so that we can go on an excursion across the dunes. Following that, we will have a cup of tea with Nomads in the desert, and we will see how they make arrangements to live in the desert. Following that, we will go to Khamilia in order to take in Gnaoua’s performance. Upon arriving at the little community of Merzouga, which is situated at the base of the white sand dunes, We will take camel rides in the afternoon to go to the desert camp, which is equipped with comfortable beds, separate bathrooms, and toilets.
The camp is located in the middle of the desert. The evening will consist of a Moroccan feast, during which we will take pleasure in playing drums around the fire and listening to music performed by Berbers in the desert. In addition, take pleasure in the beautiful night sky and the stars.In the camp, spend the night.
We will ride camels back to the hotel on the third day, after we have had the opportunity to take in the early morning hours. When breakfast is over, we will make our way via Rissani and Errachidia on our way to Fes. Along the way, we will go through the majestic Ziz Gorges, which were carved out of volcanic rock, and through the Tizi-Ntalghamt, passing through Midelt. Upon arrival, you will be able to continue your trip to Azrou, which is a community of Berber Nomads situated in the middle of the Atlas Mountains. While you are there, you will have the opportunity to have a BBQ meal and a cup of hot mint tea.
During your visit to the well-known Cedar forest, you will get the opportunity to see the Barbarian apes. During the journey to Ifrane, also known as “the French village,” there will be a last stop when you may snap some photographs or have a drink.
