Morocco Itinerary: 8 Days Morocco Tour from Marrakech

    8 DAYS MOROCCO TOURS

    Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

Upon arrival at Marrakech airport, the driver will greet you and transfer you to your hotel or riad to unwind. Later, you’ll embark on a brief city tour to explore the vibrant city. Enjoy the magical ambiance of Marrakech at night.

Day 2: Marrakech Tour with a Guide

Following breakfast at the hotel, the entire day will be dedicated to exploring the historic city of Marrakech, the “Pearl of the South.” The city boasts numerous architectural monuments and museums, having been one of the capitals of the Kingdom during the reign of three Moroccan dynasties. Every monument in the city is a masterpiece.

Start with the Koutoubia Mosque, the Manara Pavilion, the monuments of the Saadian Sultans, the Bahia Palace, the El Badii Palace, and the Majorelle Gardens. After lunch, delve into the vibrant market of Morocco and the famed Jemaa El Fna Square, an open-air theater with serpent charmers, healers, sorcerers, and merchants of alluring fruits and spices.

Day 3: Marrakech – Atlas – Ouarzazate – Dadès Valley

After breakfast, we will journey through the Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass. Our first stop will be at the stunning Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most picturesque villages in Morocco.

Next, we proceed to Ouarzazate, home to the largest film studio in Africa, which has produced films like “Gladiator” and “The Mummy.” After lunch in Ouarzazate, we’ll travel to the Dades Gorges, passing through the Valley of Roses in Kelaat M’Gouna, known for its annual rose festival. Overnight stay in the Dades Valley includes dinner and breakfast.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erg Chebbi Dunes

We head towards Merzouga by car, pausing to capture a panoramic view near the charming town of Tinghir, located in the heart of a vast palm sanctuary. Explore the renowned Todra Gorges and stroll along the river and gorge.

Next, we continue to Erfoud, home to “The Fossil Factories,” where you can observe various fossils found in this region. Upon reaching Merzouga, we’ll embark on a camel journey to the desert camp. The camp offers private restrooms, showers, and comfortable bedding. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, play instruments around the fire, and listen to Berber melodies under the clear desert sky.

    Day 5: Merzouga – Azrou – Ifrane – Fez

After breakfast, we embark on one of the longest journeys of the tour, taking about seven hours excluding breaks. The trip is made pleasant by the changing landscapes.

Before reaching Midelt for lunch, we traverse the picturesque Ziz Valley. Later, we continue to Ifrane to see the majestic Atlas cedars and feed the friendly wild primates near Azrou. Ifrane, affectionately called the “Moroccan Switzerland,” offers a European ambiance with its winter ski resort, chalets, lakes, and parks. We’ll arrive in Fez in the evening for an overnight stay in a Riad.

Day 6: Private Guided Tour of Fez

Following breakfast at your riad, we depart for a private tour of Fez, the cultural and religious heart of Morocco. Discover the architectural monuments of the Marinid and Alawite dynasties by navigating the narrow, winding streets of the ancient medina.

Visit the Bu Inanya Mosque, historic madrassas (Islamic schools), and Nejarin Square, famous for its fountain. Explore the lively artisan quarters where traditional leather and pottery techniques have been passed down through generations. Additionally, visit the Jewish Quarter, a historical site symbolizing the harmonious coexistence of Muslim and Jewish communities over centuries.

    Day 7: Fez – Meknes – Volubilis – Rabat – Casablanca

After breakfast and check-out, we head to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. A 45-minute journey will take us to Volubilis, an ancient Roman city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is among the most well-preserved Roman monuments in North Africa, with impressive ruins spread across scenic landscapes, including palaces, temples, and stunning mosaics.

Following our visit to Volubilis, we proceed to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, to see the Hassan Tower, the Kasbah of the Oudayas, and Bab Shallah. Subsequently, we head to Casablanca to visit the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. Depending on your departure, we will either stay in Casablanca or return to Marrakech.

    Day 8: Departure

On the final day of your 8-day tour from Marrakech, explore the city at leisure before transferring to the airport for your return flight.
